Blackfoot Hosts 64th Annual Member Meeting

Blackfoot will host its Annual Meeting for Cooperative member-owners on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:30am at the Hilton Garden Inn in Missoula.

The theme of this year’s meeting is Investing in Our Future. Member-owners will have the opportunity to visit with community neighbors and hear an update on the state of their Cooperative from CEO, Jason Williams. Included this year is a display of the equipment Blackfoot uses to install fiber-optics in their service communities across Montana. Attendees will also have the chance to win great prizes, including: an Amazon Echo Dot, Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet, Roku Streaming Media Player, HP Notebook, the grand prize of a 50” Samsung SmartTV and $1,000 in cash prizes.

More than 500 members are expected to attend Blackfoot’s 64th Annual Meeting, hosted this year at a new venue, the Hilton Garden Inn. The new site was selected primarily for its location and convenience for attendees traveling from Blackfoot service areas.

According to CEO, Jason Williams, “For more than six decades, our Annual Meeting has provided our member-owners the opportunity to connect with the employees who keep them connected to friends and family. At Blackfoot, we aspire to not only be the best service provider, but also a great community partner for today and tomorrow. That is why we are committed to investing in our future, as the meeting theme indicates. I hope to see all of our member-owners on May 6 at the Hilton Garden Inn.”

This is the third year Blackfoot will highlight a special non-profit at the meeting in their Community Corner. This year’s organization is the Boy Scouts of America Montana Council. Attendees may look forward to a special presentation by the Boy Scouts that will be held at the onset of the meeting.

Additionally, Blackfoot will have their second Partner Spotlight this year. Partner Spotlight is reserved for an associate partner of Blackfoot’s and this year’s selection is the Montana Telecommunications Association (MTA). The MTA will host an informational table to give member-owners the chance to learn about the state of rural broadband and visit with General Manager, Geoff Feiss.

Previous Community Corner organizations include Special Olympics Montana and Camp Mak-A-Dream. Last year’s Partner Spotlight was Missoula Electric Coop (MEC).
