Blackfoot Receives Community Partner Award from Boy Scouts of America, Montana Council
The Boy Scouts of America, Montana Council honored late Blackfoot CEO, Bill Squires, during the Mullan Trail District Investment in Character and Leadership Breakfast held at the DoubleTree in Missoula. Squires was the recipient of a “Scouting Legacy Award” at the event. Blackfoot also received the prestigious “Community Partner Award” for their corporate contributions to community service, educational programs and economic growth initiatives.
More than 275 community members attended the awards presentation, along with several Blackfoot employees, Board of Trustee representatives and members of the Squires family. Tucker Squires spoke about his father‘s enthusiasm and stewardship of the Boy Scouts organization when he accepted the award.
Blackfoot CEO Jason Williams accepts the Community Partner Award. Missoula Economic Partnership President and CEO, James Grunke, recognized Blackfoot as a leader in shaping and strengthening the local business economy. Grunke also noted their significant donation to the new Missoula College facility where the Blackfoot Café and Plaza will open this fall.
Jason Williams, current Blackfoot CEO, expressed his gratitude to the Montana Council of Boy Scouts. “It is an incredible privilege to accept the Community Partner Award on behalf of all of us at Blackfoot. Like Blackfoot, Boy Scouts of America is committed to improving lives and the communities where we work, live and raise our families. It’s an honor to partner with them.”
The Investment in Character and Leadership Breakfast is Mullan Trail District’s annual fundraising event. This year, the event raised more than $100,000 in donations in one hour, according to Jory Dellinger, Chief Development Officer for the Montana Council. This year also marks the 107th Birthday of the Boy Scouts of America.
